The Walther Trowal media program offers solutions for practically any conceivable finishing problem. Over a period of 80 years we developed a near-perfect range of grinding and polishing media made from different materials, in different shapes and sizes and with different abrasive characteristics. Be it for intensive surface grinding or for creating a preplate finish, Walther Trowal can always deliver the optimum media, made inhouse.

The trowapast-process from powder concentrate is a wet grinding and/or polishing process for finishing machines.  With this technique the surfaces of work pieces are levelled and a high polish is achieved in one or two operating steps.  Depending on the initial Ra surface roughness Walther Trowal manufactures powder concentrates with different abrasive efficiencies.  All Trowal powder concentrates first start out with an abrasive effect and then over the course of the surface treatment change to a polishing effect.

• Trowal powders are used for aggressive grinding, medium grinding, and/or polishing.
• Trowal powders reduce the Ra surface finishes of various alloys.
• At the beginning of the process the grains of the powder will grind the surface.  During the process the grains will become smaller and start to polish.
• After obtaining the desired surface finish powder is rinsed out of the machine and the components are brightenend to a high polish with water and compound.
